Rural Appraiser - new 3.6 UAD issues

I don't see how the new UAD 3.6 form stops certain properties from getting GSE loans. It 's the same information as we provided on the old URAR forms, just with more detail about certain property features. Of course is that detail reveals a factor that makes the property inelgiable, then it would affect a lending decsion.

The 5 popular software providers have been in Beta since last year. It's a easy rollout for any users who take a easy online tutorial a month before it goes into effect.

If one can't learn it fairly quickly their probably ready to hang it up. There will be thousands who are not really active and this will give them a reason to shut it down or just do private non lender as a side income. The business is shrinking due to age attrition and technology scaring some.

I’m more worried about the users of appraisal Services not being able to understand the changes. Most of you lending guys are pretty set in your ways and are slow to adapt to change. Probably why most of you have left for other professions at this point. Not a lot loan officers are qualified to do much else out there. Maybe drive for Amazon or work at a grocery store

WRE had an article in the most recent publication talking about just that. I also heard the other day that only one "lender" has signed up for the initial trial period so far

The average loan officers were brighter than our appraisers. They have to work hard to get borrowers loans and have both thinking and sales skills.

The residential appraisers were 80% form filled with no real skills except to fill out forms. That's why AI and Waivers are going to end most jobs. The loan officers will be around long after we're all dead.

Some people just have to be A Holes and never want to help others. Just ignore him he can't help it.

You're joking, right Glenn? Aside from being a good salesman/woman, 99% of LO's don't bring anything to the table. As far as having skills that are easily adapted to new professions, I'd say both professions are equally poorly suited.

The LO profession is lagging the appraiser profession just a tad with respect to disintegration as a result of AI.

Having spent my entire adult life around appraisers, realtors, loan officers and title people I have to say apprasers have the least marketable skills. That's because most can't verbally communicate with humans and have hostile personalities.

Honestly if I was running an employment agency or a Head Hunter I have no idea where I would try to get them work.

If anything, it's the LO that will get automated. All they are doing is moving standardized data around (not making any real analysis, etc).

Same with the Realtor profession, the underwriting profession, most of what the secondary folks do, etc. There's a strong push right now - at least on the lender side - to automate underwriting (i.e. to eliminate underwriters), to automate lock desk/secondary market functions, and to outsource the more manual functions (like post closing). 5 years and most mortgage lender operations groups will look like a shell.
