Anyone Going To Valuation Expo ** Las Vegas In August ?

I doubt it's any less expensive to do one of these conventions in any of the other convention towns. I'm not into any aspect of Vegas, but I also don't see Vegas as being a problem.

If you're attending every year maybe not. But I'm sure many indie appraisers would attend here and there if it pops up within driving distance or closer every few years. But that ship has sailed, Vegas is the draw for the AMC crowd with expense accounts.

Perhaps there is an unsavory and secretive reason for having their annual gala in Gomorrah. Is it coincidental they hold the event near the infamous counties where the oldest profession in the world is legal? It’s no secret some of the industry notables are utter horndogs for lack of a more eloquent description. Maybe an industry James O’Keefe can gather photo & video evidence of their exploits when they get randy and go fast and furious.

i can hear lebron saying...there is no party like and valuation party :rof:

Conventions are not designed around field appraisers but gatherings for the Titans of the Industry. This were positive forward looking professionals are looking to advance the industry from a outdated one stuck in a time capsule into one that can attract people to get on board the new technology and throwing out the old doom and gloomers.

I would rather spend a weekend in Del Rio watching cockfights than pay AMCs to listen to their seedy sales pitches.
I went once, back in 2017 and spent most my time at the sportsbooks. In my 60 minutes or so that I attended the expo, I managed to obtain a direct lender panel client who still remains a regular well paying client to this day.

It may be different this year but last year not a single direct lender had a booth, and from what I gather it's been many years since any lender had a booth.

It wasn’t from a booth. The chief appraiser for a lender overheard me speaking to someone else, and gave me her card. I called her when I got back home, and I was placed on the panel. They were bought by another bank, but kept the appraiser panel. Just received two non-complex purchase assignments from them today.
