I attended last year as well. Your summary is spot on. I’m shocked we didn’t get any follow up survey or an invite to this year’s expo, even a we noticed you haven’t signed up yet email.
There is nothing there for independent appraisers. It’s pretty much a revaa event at this point.
I knew someone that went at least 10 to 15 years ago, this was back when they gave a **** about the independent appraiser and rotated between Vegas and other areas of the country where appraisers could actually attend. It was exactly what an appraiser convention is supposed to be, he picked up about three new clients that he kept until he passed away a few years ago.
And they make you pay double - expensives as **** to get onto the tradeshow floor, and then there apparently was another fee you had to pay to go listen to speakers. I should’ve known an event catering to appraisers would be one where they fleece the ever loving and **** out of you and nickel and dime you to death.
Oh well, live and learn. And Caesars sucks. The only good news is I lost 8 pounds in three days because I couldn’t afford to eat in that hotel. Didn’t want to make the mile walk outside where the chicken sandwiches aren’t $35. Also out of fear that I would slip and fall on a drug addict’s needle.
