Voice to Text software

Looking for a voice to text simple voice recognition and write it out in any text editor or word processor. I don't want their ****ed AI, nor their grammar, nor having to use my phone as a microphone. I have a microphone. Seems every software package now wants you to use AI and or patch to a phone. I do not use my phone for a stinking computer. Other than search for an address, I use it to talk and text and check the weather...nothing else. I have people send me FB links via phone. I do not open a single one. I do not read my email from a phone. I don't bank nor conduct any biz from the phone. I just want a simple voice to text program, stand alone for my desktop.

They're all mostly cloud based because speech to text is resource intensive and language libraries are huge.

Speech Note is open source that you can run on your local machine, but it's a resource hog and linux only as far as I know.

There is an iPhone app called "Whisper Memos," that I heard about on a tech program--40 free uses). I down loaded it, but have never used --it probably goes directly to TicTok and the FBI. (I still use NoteMaster--which requires typing).

I second Dragon naturally speaking. It's awesome and works very well. Works in Word, Outlook, Wintotal....it's expensive though. Here's some alternatives.

Just curious, will dragon put a check in the check box. Then i am getting it to fill in the uad.abomination pages of just check boxes. Could be a big time saver.

Yes, Dragon will check boxes. "Click agree to terms" and that checkbox will be filled.

BUT.....since 3.6 is dynamic and online as opposed to software on the computer....I'm unsure if it'll work in that sense.

Been using this one but haven't tried with form software, but I think it should work, especially with upcoming online forms if they are implemented with correct standards:

https://wisprflow.AI
(manually type out the "AI")

Been using on my iPhone and it just blows Siri away, Apple should be embarrassed.

In my post #5, alternatives to Dragon Naturally Speaking list Whispertyping as an alternative. Is that the same company as WhisperFlo? In the comments, it's touted as better than dragon and it's free! Can't beat that.

Oh, prob about the same - there's a handful of these. There's also superwhisper for MacOS. Lot of whispering, basically.
