Alamode has much to gain with the new URAR Abomination form.
With smaller competitors dropping out of appraisal software, Alamode can have a monopoly and charge even higher fees.

It's reasonable to think the more complicated and longer the form, it's an obstacle for small and new entrants to have resources to compete with the big appraisal software companies.

Never heard of them. They don't have the marketing resources to compete.
Look at Bert's MARS which he touts.
Whether it's a superior solution is another story.
