Went to a diagnostic eye clinic after waking up in July to decidedly deteriorated vision. Went to my eye doc and she found no real change in my eyes. She felt my cataracts were still too small to be an issue, no explanation why the eyes went south overnight. Med doctor ran check to see if Lyme's disease or any brain issues. MRI on head. Then sent me to a second opinion. Second opinion 20/20 vision, exactly what my eye doc said. So, I decided a third opinion with an advanced eye diagnostic lab in Oklahoma City.
They found again my eyes are 20/20 but they, like the other two docs concluded that A - no diabetic issue, B - no detached retina, and C - no oracular degeneration. But they did say, cataracts are the problem and a rapid change does happen occasionally. And they said I had an asymmetrical ocular nerve - whatever the heck that is. (these were two factors the other doctors didn't address.) They said, I can wait a while or if it really bothered me, they could do cataract surgery anytime.
I was hoping for a fix but was surprised that the "small" cataract can be such a problem. So, I figure by next fall's annual with my first doc, we'll be talking about surgery. Oh well. My nephew insisted on taking me (grateful for that) as it is a 200 mile (one way) trip. Enjoyed the time with him. His job is changing somewhat. Del Monte the canner is being bought out by Del Monte Fresh. It's all reorganizing after bankruptcy and selling off some items. Remote job and he was on the phone some yesterday. Amusing they had sold a bunch of stuff to Walmart pre-closing and the DM lawyers pushed up closing which means Wally World won't get their shipments in a timely fashion. As he put it, Nice day to be off work. My boss is gonna be a mad little wet hen when the Walmart guys get done unloading on her. Today, he's back on the calls with Walmart involving some 300 shipments of canned goods to their shelves that ain't gonna make it.
