Costco $4.99 chicken has preservatives

You kill me anyway Fernando. Has Costco gone up from $4.99 a rotisserie chicken yet? Are they $6.99 now?

I didn't even know you ate at home.

I made what is called a Millionaire chicken casserole yesterday. Kroger did run boneless skinless chicken breast on special again this week.

I promise you I could not buy a whole fresh chicken at Kroger and cook it for $4.99. I can't afford to eat out and travel all the time like you either.
It's still $4.99 but I don't buy the cheap chicken.
Having eaten out over past two weeks, I'm sick of eating out. I missed my wife's home cooked fresh vegetable dishes.
Though I ate local food not available here. Like foie gras which is illegal in CA. It was good and once is enough.

In Barcelona, we went to a Michelin restaurant for lunch costing about $75 per person.
I felt very uncomfortable there. It was like over 5 course meal and was disappointed with the entrees.
Service was 110% in which I felt the waiters were overdoing it, pampering me, always watching me in case I drop something or causing a mess.
When I left for the bathroom, I left my table handkerchief on the table and upon returning I had a new handkerchief.
I find I'm not into fancy dancy restaurants.

It is hard to beat a good home cooked meal.

Plus you get leftovers. LOL

If you paid $75 a meal, did you get carryout on leftovers?

Did you have a refrigerator in your room?

Some rooms have like a mini fridge and little microwave. Depends on where you stayed. Many have a full kitchen.

No leftovers since hotel has no fridge. And not convenient to go back to hotel to save leftover. Just eat more "fresh" food daily.
In the beginning it was exciting eating different tapas, iberian ham, and paellas but after awhile, not really interested anymore.
Tried so many pastas and sick of them.
Just missing American hamburger, steak, and salads.
And people smoked too much unlike in US. When you have socialized health care, you can smoke as much as you want.

I cook some pasta dishes. I have eat some /made some cold pasta salads that are really good. Of course spaghetti/lasagna/alfredo etc. You can do many things with pasta and mix up the meats from beef to chicken and seafood. You can change the sauces. My wife is not crazy about pasta. Salads go really good with most pasta dishes.

We like to stay at hotels that have a frig and microwave and "free" buffet breakfast and stay near the cafeteria. Eat a plate for breakfast and take a plate for lunch. LOL

You are probably used to all inclusive. All you can eat and drink included.

If you are, you could say bring the meat and salad and hold the pasta.

I prefer to stay in hotels providing free breakfast but after everyday, the food is the same.
And my wife hates the free cheap breakfast buffet unless in a nice hotel. Thus I be only one waking up early to eat the food.

I was reading the label on a frozen dinner "Meat Loaf"... Chicken, pork and beef... preservatives. I'll stick to making my own meatloaf.

I do the planning myself. No package deals. There's so much I can advance plan because something always goes wrong.
Juggling all the places to go and keeping track of the tickets, I admit I got confuse and things could have gone terribly. I'm not as sharp as when I was younger.
Fortunately, I made it through the trip. It's getting harder mentally and physically as I get older.
Some airlines are cutting back on flights they are doing. I think they are cutting out like red eye flights is what I heard on news. They are like the fuel is o high, they can't fly as many flights.

I buy processed lunch meat and my wife fusses at me. Most of what I buy is fresh meat either unfrozen or frozen. I bet Fernando don't even cook. I don't understand why a fresh chicken at Costco would have preservatives. I am the same way on Kroger or Sams. I don't understand if they buy fresh whole chicken, why it would have preservatives.

Is it because it is the rotisserie chicken? I don't know.

On the other hand, I am not sure how much you can buy that is prepared by somebody else that don't have preservatives in it, whether fresh or frozen.

That don't matter whether you are doing it or eating out.

I can think of many frozen dinners in frozen food section at grocery. I don't know. A pot pie or pizza may have preservatives in it for all I know.

I would not think fresh fish, ground beef, chicken, pork would have preservatives in it whether it has been frozen or not.

The freezing part is a preservative. That is like canning fresh vegetables. It preserves them. Salt is a preservative.
