How many actually believe 3.6 will be fully implemented this year?

You "doubt?" So you have never used it and you have an opinion on it? Have you ever seen the 2.6 mobile app? I actually have drop down menus on the 2.6 built in that can also be edited. All I do is tap the space, up comes the choices, I can hit one, two or three, then up comes the condition, and I put it in. No writing.

Same thing with each room. I do the sketch. Choose the room to put in the sketch. Then hit the room. Up pops the ability to take a picture. I can then have some space to take notes on that room or not. Sometimes I do, and I can simply talk into my phone and it writes it out for me. No writing.

On the 3.6 there are more drop down menus to be sure that are standard for the 3.6 form. I'm not sure how much they can be customized.

I just got home from doing an inspection. 15 minutes. I got into my desktop, synced the desktop. Took me 5 minutes. Arranged the photo pages in the right place. DONE. No more sketching or putting in photos. All the descriptions are as they should be. No entry of data about the house.

Must have been a pretty simple house to complete in 15 minutes. The 3.6 is not only drop down menus and box checking, it also requires some verbiage for stuff. I will let you decide how you like when you have completed one,

I have looked at the pull down menus on the Total app. Very simple. And below each one a box for commentary pulls up. So I can simply state for example if it is a private septic system that it is a "mound system." or whatever. Or I can choose to say nothing. And I did look, they are editable.

But clearly the 3.6 is going to take longer just because there is more data to be collected. I can see inspection times increasing by about 20 to 40%. What will be helpful is when I get the data in the field on the app, I don't have to re-enter on the desktop when I sync it. All information will be in the right place along with all the photos.

I did figure out that doing the sketch first is the ticket. Once that is complete, just click on a label (garage, patio, bedroom, kitchen, etc) and the camera pops up. The photo is automatically in the report where it should be. I only messed with it for an hour or so, but the potential for time saving is there. I've been 100% paperless and using the mobile app for over 5 years. I didn't have any issues syncing with the desktop.

Good to know. I'm going to get really serious about this in the next few weeks. I'm going to run through my house, and then do some other houses of friends in my neighborhood. I have one major client that will start ordering 3.6 in August and scale up from there.

And when I took the 4 hour class they said the key is to start with the sketch and go from there.

I'm 71 so each year I go through the process of asking myself if I should continue or not. I think some of it will depend upon the fees. I know one major client has already said they will be upping theirs 250 a report. But I've also heard others that aren't that great.

I take it the homeowner did not try and natter on about the history of the property ad nauseum. The only time I can quick-quick an inspection is when I am alone.

Just did a beast the other day. 912sf' house on 16 acres with a big horse barn with stalls, etc that cost 250,000 to build. Uggh. I was there awhile with the owner which I was glad she was there. Lots of particulars on the horse barn. And I lucked out and found a small house with a big horse barn as a comp!!!!

Everyone works different but there is no way that measuring the property but not putting the sketch on your mobile app and going back to the office to redraw it is faster than just measuring the home and doing the sketch on the app. Same for the interior photos, it labels them all for you, you don't have to go back to office and try to remember what room it is and add the labels manually. Sade you really need to get with the times. I've used Wintotal Mobile App for years and it saves a lot of time. You just need be patient and learn to use it. Been paperless for over 5 years and all the files on are the app when your in the field to boot.

Now I have a 3.6 report and under vehicle storage, a custom row was created with no info. The report won't pass the UAD check because of it and there's no way to remove it.

I am back on hold with Alamode support and and number 35 in the queue.

This is why this 3.6 needs to be implemented more slowly. Software providers will not be ready for the massive amount of tech support calls!!! We need at least a year to work through the bugs.
