Uprading from windows 10 to windows 11

There are better ones marketed and backed by the homeless. Just to funny. You seem to not like billionaires, not saying i do. But, you do love trillionaire government as being the best operating system for everyone.
Didn't know i could get a political statement into a win 10 thread? I did it just for you J Grant. And in only 1 sentence.
Makes no sense but I appreciate the effort! :clapping:

I like linux but billionaire-backed MacOS and Windows are more polished and reliable.

10 years ago maybe, not so much anymore.

That being said, anyone not tech savvy should upgrade to W11 when you've got the downtime. W10 will be fine for years, but there's really no reason to wait til EOL. Security improvements aside, there's really not that much of a difference. It's better to do it sooner than wait until your appraisal software decides they no longer support W10.

I have a W10 virtual machine I use for Alamode and a W11 vm to move to eventually. Always recomend doing a clean install of your appraisal software.

Win 11 is just like the upgrade to 10 but the older you get the more change you fear. I've been using it since 11/23 with no issues I honestly can't think of a time I've had issues for any upgrade it is better all around imo though. If you anticipate a busier spring and are slow now get it out of the way and upgrade.

For those with nostalgia - a linux GUI that looks like Windows 95:

a 15 yr old operating system is akin to a Model T in the computer world.
If it does exactly what you want it to do, then it is not obsolete. As for the 60-year-old Chevy, you can buy all sorts of aftermarket parts for antique vehicles. It's those 15–30 year-old vehicles that are hard to buy parts for. You could buy fiberglass replacement parts for 50s era jeeps, including entire bodies, etc. I am now finding I can find aftermarket parts for my 2000 Chevy Pickups. My nephew dumped his Ford PU when the rear end went out after 3 years and was still under warranty. But Ford couldn't access one during covid so he drove their loaner around for six months. The dealer finally robbed a rear end from another rig and fixed it, but they would not warranty the new pot. A few months later it started howling again so he traded for another brand.

I have a 10. I have an 11. 11 sucks. It is just like Apple. It thinks you are operating on a phone, it data mines everything. I was checking on the cost of a auto shed to see what I was competing with from a local dealer, and now I am bombarded with 40 ads from Ebay, Amazon, Lowes, etc. wanting to sell me a shed. Even Harbor Freight wants to sell me a canvas one.

Just typing this post and it's trying to second-guess what I want to write, and it misses 80% of the time. Absolutely a waste of time. And speaking of Apple did you know that you can turn off your Apple phone and it will still track you, and will ping to any other apple device within pinging distance until it finds an internet connection and relay your triangulated position to Apple?

Mint Cinnamon is nice. Personally, I like the ascetic of ElementaryOS as well as Zorin:

I wonder if suites like Total can run on Wine - anyone tried?
