A doctor to lead HUD? Thanks, Trump voter.

What will the future bring? I can say for sure one word...Uncertainty.

Also, for anyone who thinks uncertainty in the housing market is a good thing, I got an island to sell them.

Lastly, why would any appraiser think a Real Estate Investor would ever want regulation in housing. I never met a real estate investor that welcomed my appraisal report. Just in case you did not put two and two together, Real Estate Appraisers ARE regulation. Will we be around after this administration?

Regarding an administration intent on deregulating and silencing anyone who might fact check/put forth an independent opinion that might impede an agenda,, appraisers are in that category..

The Trump fans on this forum were not paying attention when Trump kept barring the press from access to him / his rallies, throwing independent reporters out or mocking them. He was signalling he wants to do / say what he wants without question or fact checking. Appraisers fact check and raise questions in their reports. ( and impede profits if the value is not deal friendly)

I have no idea what, changes might occur, as you say, changes are on the way, repeal of DF, (replace with what?) His admin wants to eliminate or defund the CFPB (which recently found the Wells Fargo Credit Card scam on consumers). Agencies or regulations that protects consumers will be vulnerable.

Even if they repeal Dodd Frank, it won't impact you.
Appraiser Independence was determined by the Fed Board in the IFR.
And the cfpb did not find the Wells scam. The LA Times did.
The cfpb only jumped in to get some fine money.

But we can be thankful Mr. Carson is a smart man, who at least reads.
Unlike some appraisers.

.

Unlike the President you elected, who admitted he does not read books.

The LA Times found it out, the cfpb jumped in to get fine money? What a creative re writing of facts. Any regulation changed or repealed might affect appraisers. But if you have crystal ball predictive knowledge it won't impact us...

Unreal....Just because an article keeps referencing "The Times" as reporting, does not mean the LA Times were the ones who investigated it...that was the consumer protection bureau, the Times reported on it. Stop accusing others of not reading and you won't have to own up to this kind of idiocy.

Dodd Frank references appraiser independence and C and R . So repealing it could signal neither of those matter. But you are of the opinion repealing it won't affect appraisers, no arguing with a personal opinion.

I never met a real estate investor that welcomed my appraisal report.

That is sad. When I was still out in the fee world one of my best private clients was an investor/developer who would always get me to appraise properties that he was considering, and all he wanted was the truth so he could evaluate his investments.

I like it. I can see potential development in poverty stricken areas under his leadership like we have never seen. I like the man's character.
