A Letter From The Appraisal Institute

I doubt there is sufficient volume involved in this endeavor to result in much training, but I guess they all start somewhere.

Based on my conversations with Grok-3, which is pretty "sassy," - using Musk's own words, it will also - internally - review the person making submissions and form its own opinion of said person's competence. IMO, it is not likely the said person on the other end of the conversation is going to get a high rating. ... It learns from everything. So, it is a double edged sword.

Yeah, a really strange thing to invest time on considering the board meetings are still closed and no one knows if they are even looking for a replacement CEO.

Actually, I believe the board meetings are now open.

When using these LLMs, I assume everything you put into them becomes public domain for everyone to gain from? Or can you train your own and keep the training data inhouse?

The idea of AI (Appraisal Institute) creating anything useful with AI (artificial intelligence) is truly hilarious. They can't even put together a decent "find an appraiser" portal to help their members show up on Google when somebody searches "divorce appraiser in <my-town>". Though I've been told they have a "committee" meeting about thinking about a new and improved one...

The website is horrible. My son asked about taking QE classes through the AI, I couldn't find any packages or scheduled classes so I sent an email asking for help. The response was a link to the page "What does it mean to be a residential appraiser?" No one could take the time to respond to a dues paying member or a potential QE student. But all is not lost, if Non Sequitur Jr. decides to move forward McKissock has three package deal options that Jr. found with two clicks of his mouse.

haha - you'd think they would have a dedicated SEO team for their members.

It's because most MAI members rely on their networking with MAI members who are on the corporate side of lending. A clunky website with near zero search results/capabilities isn't a blip on their radar.

That is true. Have you ever tried using RIMS? Had to use that system to assign to residential folks. BRUTAL...
