ACI Is Not Running Again

I have used ACI since the 90's. I have used Total for the past five days and am very happy with it. I plan to keep ACI until my license expires in July. After that I will let ACI/First American gently go.

Try re-registering your license. Run review master to check if there are any errors. Check the Environment and the Report to see where files are being stored. Run the Net and Lck cleanup. You can also delete the program and reinstall it. Read the online manual under Help

Other things you can do is run disk cleanup, run sfc scannow as administrator, run chkdsk.
Hey thanks - I'll see if any of all that works, but as I don't have hours of time to trouble shoot ACI's newest problem till over week end I created a 1004 template with Clickforms, (already have a 1025 template from yesterday) imported ACI created xml into it (only grabs grid but that was cool, works like extracting from another report with ACI.) and after copy/paste sketch, maps (made new location map - much prettier map) addendums and photos from ACI into Clickforms - again like yesterdays 1025, I was able to make all files (pdf, xml and env) with no issues in a few seconds - Their tutorial sessions are great!!!! Kinda like Clickforms better then ACI already in just 2 days - know I will once much more comfortable with interface / navigating it. At 63 yrs of age and 25 yrs with ACI I think I'm done with ACI - especially now that I kinda quickly was able to create 2 sweet new templates with Clickforms - and most of all - IT WORKS! ACI was good but just trash now - hope Clickforms isn't much different $. Oh and still waiting from last friday for Wintotal to call with codes for trial. None needed with Clickforms. I think ACI is gonna lose 1/2 their customers over this shamefull debacle in less than a years time. VERY happy with Clickforms so far!!!!!

I'm doing same but with Clickforms - its really much easier to learn than ACI was/is! And I think its way cheaper than WinTotal.

I agree, I found Clickforms easy to use. My 20-year old ACI jpg signature was usable in it. I set a basic template for a 1004 and 2055 in a few minutes and was able to deliver new reports without issue. I need to research the pricing for Clickforms, I hate having piecemeal items. I want one price, all services unlimited.

By the way, my ACI is working again. My only knock on the outage is the lack of communication. I can withstand a little loss of business but I'd rather not lose clients over something out of my control.

I think I pay $469 for the cheapest route with alamode. Now many I am sure can go for over $1,000 with the top notch and all the bells and whistles.

Many of those probably have many appraisers in an office. Some maybe not .

It is silver plan. I only get phone support like normal business hours.

The higher plans get phone support 24/7 and other benefits that go with data storage and tools that help them out in the field.

That includes $40 sales tax. Idk what sales tax are in your State.

I think, base price is $429 on cheapest route with alamode.

I suggest you save your ACI setup file. Save the codes you insert into the boxes. Save screen shots of your registration. Save all ACI support emails. If you do that you likely won't need to contact support. Also run web update.

ACI runs better with 16 GB. They say it will run OK with 8, however, IMO appraisers need a minimum of 16 because we are typically running two or more applications at the same time.

Most importantly, run a malware scan, virus and trojan scans, keep your machine updated with Windows updates. Clean the cache.

What is annual cost on ACI and clickforms?

I heard a long time ago some charge you for updates and whatnot.

You get updates free with alamode (so far anyway)

They give you frequent updates.

When you log in it is like update.

The techs on phone say always do the updates.

If you call with an issue, the first thing they say is your software up to date?

I'm happy ACI is up and running here, with no issues. I really didn't want to go through the song and dance of installing another appraisal software program. Like the rest of you, I think ACI should have said "something" about the Virus Attack. Realistically, I'm just getting back to doing appraisal inspections and writing them up....business as (almost) usual. It does me no good to be critical of ACI, as this type of virus can hit anywhere. When I was in Staples the other day for supplies, the worker told me Stables was attacked by a virus a year or so ago, and it was a nightmare, too. It's the way of the world, these days.

Give the importance of timely delivery of appraisals to the financial services industry I do not believe it was warranted to take the program off line for seven days with no information regarding when or if it would ever be back online again. I am not going to use ACI. I am going to use Total. I will keep my ACI license but will not be dependent upon it ever again. I have no confidence in First American. What they did was unethical and there is no excuse for keeping appraisers in the dark for seven days.
