ACI vs WinTotal

I have been subcontracting for years and use ACI, WinTotal and on ocassion, AppraiseIt. I am starting to look for my own clients and looking to purchase a full license. Any thoughts on ACI vs. WinTotal? I like some aspects of each. I have heard that WinToatl by AlaMode could be called ala carte because everything is an add on. But that is true of any software provider. TIA

I can't speak for ACI. I've had win total it's fast when you get used to it but high maintenance with annoying upgrades all the time and you feel like they are always trying to sell you something. I'm too deep into it to get out but if I had to start from scratch don't know if this is the system I'd get. Very web based and over complicated.

Die hard ACI'er - used day one, wintotal - totally dissatisifed with their tech support. easy to use - reliable - for person dragged "kicking n screaming" into computer age - quite satisfied. (check their new GPAR 1004 for non-bank) once you learn when Best times (first thing in am or after 4:30pm EST) to phone in - Tech support folks are professional, knowledgeable, and extremely user friendly. (via email as well).

While I'd love to see them develop new features faster, it seems that they've got a great mix of just enough features without making you learn too much about the pc to use them.

I've been an ACI guy for plus 5 years. Never had a problem, currently working without a maintenance contract, don't need it.

I use the athena version of Wintotal and it is perfect. Completely stable and does what I need it to. With software of any type when I get to a place in the updates that makes the product work the way I want it to I stop updating. Why fix it if it isn't broken?

I used ACI for awhile maybe five years ago and hated it. Have they updated it since then?

Thanks for the input. I use both. ACI about 90% of the time. They both have good features.

I guess it would have been easiere to ask Coke or Pepsi?

ACI= Rock solid performance

Alamode= Rock solid sales team

I feel Wintotal works 10 times as hard on sales than they do on their products. ACI is just solid and I have no reason to switch, no matter how many great things alamode claims to do.
