I think AI is going to present far more opportunities for people than they may realize at this point. Many new industries are likely to be created, presenting new, unforeseen opportunities.

That is the same talking point of that shark tank guy Kevin oleary.....the same guy that said 10 years ago on shark tank praising China and was for everything being sent to China for manufacturing.

Now he's done a 180 on China. He has no soul and is a greedy mother. He has been caught lying about data centers.

The only opportunities are for the private equity, high IQ, congress, executives etc. Sure some new jobs will created but at what ratio as compared to the ones who got displaced?

They are using the same excuse that they are using with appraisers....shortage...better replace them with AI and robots.

True story.

A regional builder used to have an appraiser hotline where you would email and get comp data. Super easy and was the best builder to get comp data.

Now, that person was replaced with a AI Agent.

I requested comp data for the comps that I wanted to use. The subject was under contract for 310k had below grade GLA and backs up to the main road. I wanted all that has the same factors/features and that recently closed.

The AI Agent gave me all dated sales that backs up to wooded areas that closed for $330k.

The AI Agent refused to give me the requested sales.

I have a regional builder that does the same thing, she’s perfect to deal with. Every time I appraise a home in her communities I send her a quick email to give me two or three recent sales, she’s as responsive as can be. Never have a problem. I wonder if they did the same thing, cause last time I emailed her I did not get a response. That was unusual.

AI will take over C-suite executive level positions before the working class.

There are just some things that still can't be done by bots/AI, and you're right - those tasks fall heavily on the 'manual' side of the employment house. Welding, auto repair, landscaping, plumbing, a/c repair, construction, electrician, etc.

Jobs that AI is extremely well suited for: legal (and pretty much any other kind of) analysis, rote repeatable tasks, customer support, etc. These, however, seem to me more 'mid-management' level roles. I still see the C-suite folks as being integral to an operation. Crazy times we get to experience, though!

There are some uses for AI that only AI can do because of the computing power. I recently heard of a math problem that had been unsolvable for some 3 decades. It took AI a number of days to crank out the solution. Can you imagine the number of computations !! Now wonder humans couldn’t solve it.

Also customer service centers will go to AI as the first line. I recently bought a TV that I was having some trouble with setting up. I contacted the company via chat and I knew it was AI I was talking to. I got help right away. Having said that I have had a bad experience with AI and had to talk to a live human.

I have also used AI for some medical questions that my wife and I were not getting good answers from the medical profession. We got the answers we needed and it was clearly the solution because my wife started feeling better in days by the suggested treatment approach.

Again, everything must be done with wisdom. We need know its limitations and its negative issues. My main concern are cyber attacks using AI to hack into critical infrastructure. Lives are on the line in those cases.

AI is here to stay. But guard rails are needed at some points.
