AI Creates Residential Appraiser Project Team

Just came back from another Regional Meeting (Seattle). Many of the things discussed in this thread and in other places (except for sacrificing the cat) regarding improvements of the AI benefit (real and tangible) package to residential appraisers were raised and discussed in our meeting. We had another breakout session which focused on residential issues and a lot of good ideas that will be forwarded up the chain.

I don't like how long it takes for changes to occur in the AI; I understand the organizational-structure makes it difficult to implement fast changes. Having said that, I'm more encouraged now than since I first joined about what I see happening on the horizon.

Talk is cheap, so I want to actually "see" the changes. But I see the moves taking place to set-up the changes, and that is very encouraging!!

Talk is cheap
True enough. For the past 20 years we've seen a lot of appraiser talk from any and all comers. We don't see much that can be translated into useful action. Appraisers got beat on the de minimis, we are losing the BPO battle, being dictated to by AMCs, and as an example, Phil Crawford's latest has a piece on an appraiser who was met at the homeowner's place by the LOAN OFFICER who lit into him about the FEE, which the appraiser had no control over and would not disclose because the AMC demanded they NOT disclose it. We cannot even get a law REQUIRING THE FEE TO BE DISCLOSED!!!!

In the case above that is one LO that would know EXACTLY what the fee I got was supposed to be, and I would tell him/her to stick that fee where the sun don't shine, go back to the office and tell the AMC to stick it where the sun don't shine, and go on to the next project.
