I can't believe I am writing this after the public stoning of a previous poster but here goes. Feet to the fire. I could request no snarky comments but I'm sure that is asking too much. I've had so many ongoing issues with Alamode that they have repeatedly took over remote control of my system and even took some corrupted reports to try and find what is causing all the issues. It dawned on me that giving them access to and copies of my reports may be violating USPAP. I've been in the business for over 20 years so I guess I should know this but I don't. If it is violating USPAP then how would they be able to fix software issues?
Go ahead. Start throwing.

If the problems you're having occur on any report you have open and you're concerned about possible USPAP issues, have them go into a test or template report.

I doubt it violates USPAP, simply ask for a confidentiality statement from them before starting. Your secretary etc. sees this stuff. GLB is specific about shared info.

if you want to get technical then yes it could be viewed as a USPAP violation, but i doubt it would ever get to that point.

it happens hundreds of times a day when appraisers use gmail to send a report to a client. part of the EULA for gmail states that they are allowed to keep a copy of every email you send or receive, and that includes all attachments. so every time a report is sent via gmail it is technically a USPAP violation as the appraiser is providing confidential information to a party not involved.

will anyone ever get called out on that? i highly doubt it. i think the same can be said for your situation.

Is this a real post or is someone trying to entrap us ? After all the moderator asked posters to respond in a professional manner- which I will do ** NO get the software issue resolved !

I hate google "stuff" but we are all hooked on it...and you have to watch yourself or one mail service or the other will try to read all you email accounts...I hate that too.

I don't think you are violating anything. They are helping you with technical issues and (highly doubtful) interested in anything your actual report states.

El, they have all my reports in their Vault. I suppose I'm in real trouble

No worries. You're fine.
I'll let you search for the Python stoning skit yourself. :leeann2:
