Inspected a vacant house and as usual, the utilities weren't on and most of the light fixtures were missing along with a few outlets. This was not an FHA loan, but I mentioned these issues under conditions of the home. I did not make the appraisal "subject to"..... but I rec'd a request for a 442 anyway. Ok, I figured they want me to check the utilities and make sure there aren't any problems. The property is about 30 minutes away in a direction that I never go, however I just happened to be heading to the lake the next day and have to drive right by the property.....Perfect!! I'll stop in and check the utilities and be on my way. Not so perfect....they rejected my 442 and want me to address if there are any health or safety issues and address if light fixtures and outlets have been capped off. Oh, and make sure I change the purchase price to the 'new' price (um...is there an addendum somewhere?) I'm pretty sure that the light wiring was still hanging from the ceiling, but this was after a hot day at the lake with my ice chest
so I can't be positive.
I think they should pay me another fee for a new 442 request and be specific about what they want me to check, am I right on this thinking???
