AMC vs Appraisal software system?

That is correct, but you stated Xome is an AMC, they are not an AMC.
Except, Xome is an AMC when they are operating as an AMC. They have other entities, but they engage appraisers on behalf of lenders all the time. That makes them an AMC in that capacity.

Xome bought Assurant's mortgage solutions department. Which included AMC operations (Assurant had previously bought Streetlinks.l . They are an AMC. But as others have said. They also have other operating divisions. Including LenderX . Which is a portal

I was confusing Xome with Lender X

Attention LenderX Appraisers - Lender/Client Field

Dear Appraiser Partners,

It has come to our attention that appraisers have been populating the 'Lender/Client' field of the appraisal report, found below the appraiser's signature, with 'LenderX' or "Xome Valuations". Such entries are invalid given that LenderX is a lender-executed appraisal software system and NOT a lender, client or appraisal management company (AMC).

Per UAD, this field cannot be left blank. Therefore, you must contact your lender client prior to report submission to ensure you are populating this field with their preferred verbiage.

Please DO NOT use the LenderX name under any circumstance within an appraisal report moving forward.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the primary contact that you have for your lender client.

Highest regards,

LenderX Support
