Ansi measuring of attic space

Kamala was in CA recently fundraising.
To see her, costs minimum $5,000.
If I go to her fundraising, do I get special favors? ... I mean will she help us appraisers.

Appraiser makes the judgement call in how the market perceive the unpermitted area.
The unpermitted area is put in separate grid and adjusted. I have done this for decades and each area is different.
Sometimes I give more value but lender has own policies how to deal with it. In that case, lender over rules but in reconciliation, I get final say.
The market makes the judgement, not the appraiser. The appraiser uses data about market behavior quantify how the market perceives the unpermitted area. This is true for all items that have market relevancy.

ansi does not define attics...or illegal conversions :rof: :rof: :rof:

I’m still waiting for one of the value visionaries to let me know which side of the house I’m supposed to lie about when we’re measuring to the nearest 10th of a foot? With tools that are not that precise.

It's not the tools that are not precise. It's the "tools" that are the problem

Correct. It’s the method and environment in which they are being used. Regardless, labeling a sketch 27’, 27.4’ or 27.8’ makes no significant difference in GLA.

Makes you wonder if Fannie understands the forest from the trees.
Measuring to the 10th foot is not what a real appraiser should be concern about.

Your right. There is nothing to be concerned about. Except if you have a problem reading a tape measure or positioning a disto.
