I am clear about GLA adjustments of main floor to second floor staircases and foyers, however, I need some clarity about stairs that go to the basement. Are we to remove that stair square footage from the GLA of the main floor?
It seems a bit ridiculous as any comparable would not be removing that square footage.

With ANSI, stairs are always counted in the SF of the level from which they descend.

No! You do not remove that from the first floor area under any circumstance according to the ANSI Z765 2021 standard.

I strongly suggest you pay the $25 for your own copy of the standard.

When the margin of error (the buckle of the tape, the difference between a taught and a saggy tape, the width of the gutter your are bouncing your laser off of etc.) is more than the amount you are rounding too, no two measurements are going to agree.
