I have used Total since May 1992. That was when i went from a typewriter to a computer. I learned the entire process with no instruction in less than a week. With each upgrade I have had to learn new exciting things. Each upgrade had about 1-3 days learning curve. Athena was a bit longer but an Alamode free seminar helped. See, if you buy the tech support(Platinum) you get to send 1 person to the seminar free. This year my son went, and came back and showed me a lot of new features. When I switched to digital cameras, Alamode gave me personal attention and walked me through the process. I toyed with the idea of another software in 1996 and came scurrying back in less than a month.

You hit my history on the head.

You might want to try Geolocator.(if they will give 30 day trial)

It saves me more time per $ invested than any thing.

It even has rural Arkansas, or you can find an intersection and move to subject.

Is there a field data program for Clickforms?

Been using Wintotal for a number of years. Have used ACI also. Wintotal is so much easier than other programs that I have seen. Yeah - alamode has problems, but what doesn't.
Suggestions:
1. Create template files in a separate folder - I probably have 25-30 template files for different major forms, locations etc.
2. Make use of the technology features included with the program including pocket total - yeah there is a learning curve but it appears to save alot of time. (I'm just getting into pocket total)
3. Take the time to attend one of the seminars - they are created to allow you to pick and choose what interests you - plus you ALWAYS can pick up a new hint from another appraiser (isn't that what we do here?)
4. Create your quick lists. This will alone save you 100's of hours since you don't have to type, but just point and click.

Any other help that I can be to you in learing e-mail me and I'll do anything I can to help you.

Ed,

There is a field data program for Clickforms. It's on their website. I still use the clipboard. Also, if you remember there was an appraiser that posted here long ago named John David Biggers who wrote his own program for Clickform's/handheld PDA/field notes and had it available for sale. If you're interested, maybe you could search the old archives for John Biggers and see if you can get his email address.

BEN,

THANKS, I did find it @ www.J-D BIGGERS.

I really ACI-but am going to change to Win-Total OR Clickforms so as to use the Field Data program.

This is the only way for me to increase productivity.

Keep up the good work. ed in arkansas

quick get your money back

I used alamode since..well forever

Athena changed me.

Olympus is fine, dont keep your service agreement up with Athena and your software may not work one day.

Why else would they want to upgrade a perfect(almost) software package?
