Appraisal fees from potential/current volume customers

IF I was to work for low fees I'd do work that I'd have fun at & not have the liability (that is going to increase as this market tanks more) I still maintain the 350-450 range & every one is COD. I know there are some on here that can't seem to grasp this concept BUT if your not going to make money or worse NOT get paid why do this job??

You youguns had better start fighting for this profession before there is no profession

I do all my appraisals for free and only charge if I have to put it in writing.

Just kidding: $375 to $1,500 depending on complexity. Standard tract house is $375. I lost a client this past summer because I would not lower my fees. As Ray says, So be it.

Fees are dependent on many factors, the most obvious being supply and demand in your particular market area. What one person charges in their area is likely going to have have nothing to do with what another charges in another area.

True and the AMCs are well aware of the most obvious factor.

$350-400 DOLLARS!!! Thats right, I charge american dollars! Not dead animals, pasta, rabbit poop, etc. I get money! (money money money) woohoo

Arn't you Secial! :rof::rof::rof:

I've been paid in meat, guns, groceries, electronics and even a small greenhouse once.

Had a request from a fairly new client today to decrease my FHA fee by $5. He explained that when having the borrower write the check for the appraisal fee reducing it by $5 makes it easier for the borrower to swallow. Had to swallow my tongue, so to speak, but accepted the $5 reduction and am just happy to still be receiving the work.

Life at $350 per job would be great. Average between $250-$275 here with AMC at $150-$200 if you want to take it. An appraiser I know does and has work every week. Quote $300 and loose the client with a few exceptions. Since July, AMC is about all there is. I have refused and haven't been very busy by contrast to my friend. Slim pickens for full fee work. Occassionally can get $350-$425 for very difficult rural work with 150 miles of driving. Cost me $50 for 12.5 gallons of gas today in my VW. Thinking about a new job that includes being paid.

Pay attention folks.

Not a single poster has answered the original question. CWD asked what they are offering...NOT what you are quoting...
