check out Wilson Computer Applications
What is the cost to use Wilson per year?

Do you purchase flood data?

What about location maps?

Also, do you purchase a service contract?

What is the cost to get started for a single user?

Do they have a REO addendum?

They are sending me a demo.

I also use WCA and used SFREP for a few years ahead of that. I love WCA .... there is no annual fee to own or use it, you pick the updates that you want, which are more than reasonably priced, digital signatures are $50 ... it works flawlessly with Apex and with Dragon NaturallySpeaking software, it integrates with Delorme or with MS Streets & Trips, it has an excellent photo program, each report can be restructured to suit your needs, which takes care of the space requirements for additional addenda, you can develop and use your own skeletons directly from their forms and addenda, you can choose to use their canned comments, which are written VERY well, or you can create your own canned comments to use in every report, or only the ones you want to use it in, it has a built in database and comp database which will automatically import comp photos, by address, for you and the support is FANTASTIC .... The biggest thing, to me at least, is that they treat you like family.... if you have a problem, THEY have a problem ... I have spoken to the actual owners on weekends, one of their tech support folks gave me their personal cell number in case I needed any help over the weekend ... just grade A, #1, top choice, folks to deal with. Total cost for start up, about $800 depending the options that you choose, but you can start out lite and add things as you go, if you choose to .... I know that I, and the both of the Leggetts (Dan and Mell) are quite happy with it .... and apparently the guys above are too .... feel free to mention any or all of us when you talk to them ... we don't get anything out of it, but they like to hear about referrals from satisfied customers ... they work harder than most ... for you .... I give them 2 thumbs up ... ;)

Oh ... and yes... they have an REO addendum and some other forms and addenda that I haven't seen with other software packages .. There is no contract, but you can buy a service contract, but frankly, you won't need it ... If you have a problem, they will help you, contract or not ...:D

They are sending me the demo.

Doug, I thought you were going to buy Alamode? :P

I am also going to contact Wilson Computer for their demo. Thanks for the suggestions!

plus $100 for the signature
whatzza deal with paying for a signature? I mean, don't you have a scanner? $100 buys one. I am lic. is 3 states currently, so I have to have 3 signatures. 2 state require stamps.

I stamp right over my name and scan it in color. Set up is easy. I use Clickforms, but likely is going to be my last round with them. Used them since 2005. I doubt I renew any form software in the future. 90% of my work is narrative.

I agree with Doug about it being a great program. I use AppraiseIt from SFREP, which is the same program as Wilsons program. SFREP is also a well run company that will help you out when you need it.

Doug,

What is your process for using Dragon Nautrally Speaking? I have been thinking about purchasing it, but I was not sure how much of a time savings it would be or how the best way to use it would be.

Thanks,

I can type faster than I can talk and get my message across with one of those speak and type programs. Too many little ins and outs to learn to get the program working right.

Girlfriend had one and spent more time teaching the program how to spell than having it type for her.

Probably be good for basic letters but for form filling I don't think it will speed up the process.

I used to use SFREP but swithed because it was too difficult to search for old appraisals. The dos version was great. type in a name and it would bring uip all of them. The newer software they came out with will bring up one report and thats it. It was very frustrating trying to find an old report to copy. I did like the comp data base. I now have alamode and cant say I like it. very complicated I like the integrated maps. It is expensive and the sales calls are annoying. I may switch to something else because alamode seems to take forever to do an appraisal even though they tout the time savings. just don't see it.
