For anybody out there who happens to have a license for MARS based on the old subscription fee of $360/year, you are in luck. The price now goes up effectively to $15,000/year for new licenses- which require buying the whole Salford-Sytesms SPM package. T
-This has something to do with Minitab buying out Salford Systems. Also, they have greatly reduced the price on the SPM package itself (which includes CART, MARS, Random Forests, Tree Net plus Automation) - which is good for many other users who had been paying more like $20-40K per year.
So, if you have that old license, keep it. It is now essentially worth far more for appraisal.
