Appraising on a Motorcycle

I've done it a few times, but not recently. Maybe for that driveby in East Palmdale coming up. :new_llying:

It's kind of a hassle stopping at each comp and pulling out camera and pen etc, taking off gloves.

Although perhaps if I update my technology...
With a Go Pro Hero cam I could do my comp shoot in record time. :D

Just no MotoGP hero stuff, OK.

I ride my Harley Road King Classic to shoot comps and appraise REOs sometimes. I have a handlebar mount for the camera so it looks like I am just fiddling with my handlebars when I shoot a photo. Holding a camera and shooting pics while on a bike would freak people out around here.

It's important that you maintain your professionalism....so....be sure to pick the bugs out of your teeth before you ring the door bell.

Saves on gas but how do you punch in GPS directions, talk on the phone, look at comp sheets, write field notes while having two hands on the wheel, i mean handlebars.

I seriously considered it when gas was approaching $4/gal with no end in site. Enjoy the ride.

All distractions and in many cases illegal to do while driving. Bike or car, pull over to do these things.

Have a 47 harley with sidecar in the barn, but haven't ridden it to an inspection yet...mainly because it's mechanically temperamental. Doubt it would be looked upon as unprofessional around here, but then again most peoples work uniforms include camo and muck boots.

Used to ride my mountain bike to inspections when I lived in Burlington (the Amsterdam of New England). Laptop case with shoulder strap worked well.

I like doing drive bys on horse back..........

clip clop, clip clop, click click, clip clop, clip clop.....

Pun intended, apparently not rec'd.

You never know with some on this forum. Sorry.

It doesn't really matter unless its a USPAP violation or if you are in front of a judge does it?:new_smile-l:

Distractive driving is a killer and I don't mean to imply differently.
