Trump had no experience in govt prior to taking the oath of office for POTUS. That's your benchmark for what can be considered minimally qualified to serve in elected office at any level of the govt. After Trump's run in office that guts the arguments about qualified or unqualified. We shouldn't even be discussing it anymore. Same with the character argument; once the American people nominally tolerated the act of Bill finishing on his intern's face on company time in the Oval office that argument should have been retired.

So, now, every female who ever fails is a DEI hire, but the numerous males who fail are not....

The difference is whether they were hired expecting them to be a failure or not. If males are hired for being males over qualified females I'd have a problem too.

Don't even try to pretend if Trump said I will only take a white male for a VP or supreme court justice you would find that bad.

I have a feeling many that get hired because of how they were born don't feel the need to excel as much.

I still have the minority view.

I think calling the SS director a diversity hire due to the outcome of the one event ignores all devolvement of the Secret Service qualifications and training for their agents going back at least a few years. this situation didn't just start to decline in the last 3 years, it's been a long time coming. If fair is far, she only gets tagged for whatever her part is in the overall program; not for everything that occurred prior to her appt. If her office shorted Trump's detail for resources then that's arguably a performance issue, not a qualifications issue.

I don't know why you attached a DEI element to this part of the discussion. The AQB is reconsidering the question about what the right amount of academic qualifications are for the minimum requirements of appraiser qualifications. Not anything which touches upon the topic of diversity and inclusion.

PAVE has a DEI mandate. Entry to AI's PAVE has a DEI requirement.
