AQB Update On Proposed Changes To Appraiser Qualifications

LOL. :). If your gonna try to take a shot you might want to avoid losing all credibility by posting something 100% inaccurate to start off your "dig." I spent exactly 0 days as an AQB member, and I was never the AQB "leader." But, don't let a little thing like actual facts get in the way of a snide remark.

Would love to see YOUR reaction if I posted something that inaccurate. :)

And since you were the leader of the ASB in 2001-2003, what was USPAP definition of independent. Settle this for me and George. i can't wait to read this.

And by the way that is one exclusive group. No really u.s. presidents should be jealous. You must of pushed all the right buttons.

Now i see there are eight total members. Do they each get a vote? What if there is a tie? Flip a coin?
 
More and more it seems like an argument between those who feel privileged/entitled and those who made their own way (college or not).

There are people who have always been self educating, with college giving them a boost and there are people who think simply getting a random degree puts them at par with the former.

A poster said that appraisers should be in large firms.
Not sure why a residential appraiser would want a staff position or even a fee split position inside a large firm. It seems like those who seek these positions are unable to secure their own work.

You are an interesting breed indeed. What do you do for a living dog? Lol

Why didn't you ask me? I have the 2001, 2002 and 2003 editions of USPAP right here because I was teaching the courses every month.

I'm telling you there is no entry in the DEFINITIONS Section of USPAP for "independent". Nor in the Glossary for those editions that had that, nor in the indexes. Not in 1999 or in the other years.

Instead of asking the question why don't you spell out what you think it is and where you think you saw it?

That question is deep. My first reply would be fastest and cheapest which was virtually non existent years ago. We can correlate that with public trust if you would like to reconcile them but I know what your answer will be which does not correlate with public trust. Remember my opinion of public trust is both macro (tax payer) and micro (one property).

GH's answer will be it is good enough for lender purposes. That is contradictory to public trust from a micro and macro standpoint.

Take note of USPAP which GH is very familiar with.

This is not right but I am not going to waste my time unless you post what you do for a living. You have several half truths in the post.
