If I recall correctly, JT posted the results of a survey, the results of which noted something like half of the respondents indicated that they did not have a college degree. That's interesting given that the poll is likely heavily skewed toward those working for AMCs.

One is public biased. The other is self serving biased.

Good point. I used to work for the largest AMC which was owned by Citibank before the crisis. They were Chesapeake title or something like that originally and then became finiti. I have worked for others too, but I jumped ship after the meltdown and bailout.

Citibank was probably the largest bank in the world at the time. We had at least 9 citifinancial offices in my county. We have none now.

Let me renig. We have two based on google and I bet they just recently opened. I bet they do very little mortgage work.

In 2003-2006, they were rocking in mortgage work.

Little houses. Low to moderate income areas. Sweet from an appraisal standpoint. Quick.

Profit margins have changed since then primarily due to difference in labor cost as an operating expense.

The oligopsony is a double whammy with their market power on price.

Education is good. The main problems I have noted.

Idk, but that info really should be coming from the state and federal level. You know that. I don't need any more fake news.

One of my besties was an SRA and president of the local chapter. She quit appraising a few years ago and if you could have only spent time with her, you would have loved it.

She is a Mississippi girl which is a non-disclosure state.

I took a job or two in MS, which she helped me with. She tried to recruit her husband like I tried to recruit my wife and kids. She recruited one of her kids. I failed all the way around.

Her child that she recruited does sales and development too.

Yes, and I believe that it's been posted on the forum several times. I believe that greater than 70% at the time the survey was done had 4-year degrees. But I can't recall if it was a general survey, or one skewed to AI membership/affiliation.
