ASA fired off quite the letter

Seems odd. Last few times I’ve had any work on hvac or anything in my home, the guy pulls up an iPad and requires payment before he leaves.

Sort of like how appraisers were paid before govt took over your business.

There is no question that big Government, in collusion with big business, has destroyed the industry as far as “technological advances.” The only Technological advancement the GSEs have come up with is the theft of intellectual appraisal data. And I can tell you for a fact that is about to change.

I had heard the AI is getting good enough to identify wall heights, flooring and trim from the photos, as well as identifying the make/model of the kitchen appliances and fixtures. I was previously thinking that going into "data collection" might be a good fit for those appraisers who want to be out/about, but the REL of that gig might end up being pretty limited, too.

But AI can't smell the cat urine in the carpets.

Or feel the rumble of trucks passing buy,

or smell the sewage treatment plant that's up wind.

You been hanging around the wrong people. I wish you could get in HUD's head.

HUD has the ability to make it right. CFPB too.

The idiom barking up the wrong tree means trying to do something in a way that will not work or pursuing a mistaken or misguided line of thought or course of action123. It comes from the old hunting practice of using dogs to chase animals into trees, but sometimes the dogs would bark at the wrong tree where the animal had not taken refuge45.

I used to squirrel hunt a bunch. Really good squirrel dog and rabbit dog. Sometimes that dog would go to the wrong tree. Young grey squirrel is good meat.

You still hunt squirrel when leaves are on. When leaves are on. You camo and sit still. Dog when leaves are off. Dog still barks up wrong tree sometimes.

Dog will make it turn sometimes. Hey Dog, let's go to this tree. Party is over if squirrel turns my direction.

The dog is not stupid . They know the squirrel is close. They smell it.

Whatever the motivation - The appraiser organizations needed to respond, and I'm glad they finally did.
I'll defend the orgs a little, it isn't the orgs fault nothing gets done it's their members and to a lesser extent their lack of members (especially residential).

Really?
Walk through the house with spongy floors, or uneven floors, and still see no cracks in the foundation, lately? Show up in your photos????

:ROFLMAO: and is that black mold on the drop down tile ceiling in the basement, or just darker colored tiles?

Smell the oil that leaked and soaked in to the concrete basement floor near the heating unit? Or smell the mold in the walls from the last time a water pipe broke, but the the wallboard over the pipe break was replaced and painted?

That's okay, because real people won't live in it. They'll just view their new home on social media, that way they can stay insulated from the termites, carpenter ants, mold and any issues with lingering fecal matter.

That's what buyers want. Something that's just as acceptable to AI that it is to them.

But I won't expect appraisers to reach out to anyone else to point this out, naw, that'd be like having to socialize in public and it's work they won't get paid for.

:ROFLMAO:
