It strikes me that ACI and Total have a large share of the business, but both forums are busy with "problems" whereas the Clickforms forum hasn't had a comment since 2021. I cannot attribute that solely due to Clickforms being a "little sister" of sorts...Can you say 'trouble free'?

I have used Clickforms and it's predecessors exclusively. Very minimal problems. Have always been able to contact support when needed. Which hasn't been often. Used support once in the past year after an update. They knew about the problem by the time I called. Had a temporary work around until they fixed the update.

ok i am embarrassed to admit i am still using w7 but i have defender as well i think...
Defender was not on Windows 7 that I am aware of . BUT on Windows 10-- I learned to no longer use outside Virus programs all of them cause problems and Windows Defender has been just fine. BUT time to move up and out of Windows 7 your going to have problems in the near future.

Heck that's the problem. Windows 7 hasn't been supported for a while now, since 2020 if I remember correctly.

Yeah I wonder if OP told Tech Support he was on Windows 7 because nobody is going to help the poor guy. Also nobody will remote access into his computer because if it crashes or he loses data they can be held accountable. I like him use things until the end but even I moved on from 7 to Windows 10. he will find many programs as they update will no longer work on it. Its great if you dont use form softwear and just do narratives but otherwise he is screwed.

I lost access to several peripherals when I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 as nobody bothered to update the drivers for them. HP color printers and Fujitsu scanner just useless paperweights now. I kept an old Windows 7 computer configured as a print server for a while to maintain access to them but grew tired of network security warnings.

Hasn't stopped them from the occasional "security update" anyway.

My 10 machine, once updated and crashed immediately over the ASUS drivers. We ended up losing all the USB ports on front (3.0 ports at that) leaving me only 2 behind. AND to get those back, I would have had to reformat the HD, and reload every single program (some I use are very old) - so put a splitter in and deal with the slowness.

windows 7 is fine, but i'm surprised that you can run total on it since it's geared to win 10 systems & drivers. most new programs will not run on win 7 because of updated drivers & system files needed. but i guess if the electric works fine with knob & wire, 60 amp fuse box, then you don't need to upgrade. you might not know how slow your computer is also running because you have an old slow master chip. but hey, i miss my commodore 64 computer. damn, simple and fast, even with the 5 inch floppies.
