Banned from Court House

What is he secreting?

Bet that was the true reason for the banning....although we don't call it that here in the sunshine state...

we Yankees are much more intelligent and have no problem with new fangled inventions.
I'll even agree...

What is he secreting?
I donno but the doctor gave me a cream for it....

Petroleum landmen call them "PTs" - Picture takers. I know a title Co. that recently photo'd and indexed all the records of a county and created a title plant. It took quite a few days in a pretty small county to record all the records. Virtually all the petroleum landmen who do title work use a camera. It's simply faster than a copier for old records which are only found in books.

BTW, there is also a website you can buy the very same data that is displayed on the county clerks computer...$50 a mo. last time I checked.

PVPLUS even allows some of it for some counties. Oklahoma records were supposed to be on-line several years ago...well, they are more or less.

I had to go to traffic court the other day.
The biggest gavel I ever saw was sitting on the bench.
Looked as big as Gallaghers Sledge-O-Matic! :rof:

It was early before the Judge arrived, and I wanted to take a picture. But the dozen or so armed CHP officers up front in full uniforms and gear, along with the signs outside saying no cameras or recording devices deterred me.

I should have at least asked the Judge to bang the gavel after finding me guilty of speeding, but reducing the fine. :leeann2:

Freaking government offices.

I bought a house recently and the title company held up my funding because they said the county had a tax lien on me for $94.00. It was for a "personal business property tax" they said I owed from 2005. Actually, there was no business property in my name at that time but I never mailed the paper in stating there was no business property.

So I went down to the tax assessor and they told me the fees had been paid more than a year ago. Apparently when I refinanced my main house it was paid out of escrow but they never got the removel of the lien document recorded. So not wanting to delay things any longer I asked for a copy of the unrecorded lien so that I could walk next door and get it recorded. They gave me a copy and charged me $2.00.

I took the document to the recorder and they charged my $14.00 to record it. I asked them for a copy of the recorded copy and they said sure but there would be a charge of $2.50.

Terrel,

I've been to the Delaware County Court House and, probably like you, I have certainly been kicked out of better places.

Just be careful, they don't like to take prisoners when someone violates the law so openly! You know, they only call them "PUBLIC RECORDS" for fun!

...and getting kicked out of a Oklahoma Courthouse is bad???
