Best Bang For Your Buck Laser Measuring Device?

The $125 Bosch is actually designed for wood working, too--side benefit.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I just bought a Disto D2 with Bluetooth from appraiserslaser for $163.18 total. Has everything I need now and in the future, and none of the fancy stuff I probably wouldn't use very much.

Adding the viewfinder screen for seeing the laser dot really makes it jump up in price. I have one of those models and really like it. But for someone on a budget then there's lots of lower end models that are much cheaper.

There are great benefits to using the free Leica DISTO sketch app paired with a DISTO. The finished drawing is clean and no handwritten mistakes or chicken scratch you can't read when you get back to the office. With the ability to draw your sketch, Bluetooth the measurements, and then email the final back to the office you will save time once you integrate into your workflow. Plus you can have photos tied to your sketch to reference what you measured.

I am so glad I ditched the tape measure over 4 years ago.
Paid about $80 for a NEW Bosch DLR-130 and it has worked great.
I've done about 600 homes with it so far and still works well.
(about $0.13 per home, so far)

Glad to hear you enjoy using a laser. Should have purchased a Leica. 3 year manufacture warranty and will last long past that. Buying Bosch units every year gets expensive as the accuracy and consistent measuring will fade over time. These are throw away units as the mechanical shutter wears out over time (the click you hear when pushing the measure button). You could've spent $149 E7100i or $199 D2 New and had Bluetooth with the free DISTO sketch app. Quality and accuracy should never be compromised when taking measurements as a profession. Consider a Leica next time especially if you take measurements outdoors.

LOL what you are telling him is the opposite of his experience. He said he's had his for 4 years and measured 600 houses with it so far. Where do you get that he bought 1 a year?

Steven, Did you even read my post? I've owned it for over FOUR YEARS and it works great. The accuracy doesn't "fade over time"? Why would say that?
Your inaccurate post just turned me off from buying a Leica.
I see you just joined. Welcome to the Forum. Good luck selling product.
