What would happen if a bunch of miners moved computers into poor neighborhoods? How dare they.

.

The west is littered with abandoned mines and boom/bust ghost towns. Does anybody really think Bitcoin miners are more responsible? They certainly aren't green.

The West is also littered with humans nailing themselves to the "tree of Wo" by a parasitic control structure that forms their reality.

Keep me Low on the "Social Responsibility Ranking" sent from the masters of Silicon Valley - may I be the fly in the Borg's ointment.

That's an interesting take. But I'd avoid the Borg ointment.

:)

"WENATCHEE, Wash. — Squeezed by unexpected demands of bitcoin mining, city and county governments in Chelan and Douglas counties are slowing the influx of digital currency startups in order to step back, take a breath and weigh the industry’s effects.

.”

This is in Wash. state. With their political leanings, they should be very familiar with the concept of a 'progressive' rate structure. Just like the tax system, they should charge more per KWH for power above a certain threshold, that threshold being slightly above the avg. household usage. That should drive the miners away.

On another note, at what point does the cost of elec make bitcoin mining (aka witchcraft, turning electricity into bitcoin cash) unprofitable? I'm guessing someone here knows.

Top down is failing. Bottoms up revolution is underway. Its just another cycle in history that happens when old systems can not adapt quick enough to the changing tides of tech.

Harry Dent just released a nice utube on "bottoms up revolution". The guy is passionate.

I was gonna pick this apart for multiple levels of jocular commentary...but it's just fine the way it is.
