OREA is responsible for enforcement. If an appraiser is required to comply with USPAP or holds their work out as complying with USPAP and it doesn't they are subject to enforcement action whether or not the assignment is federally related.

I'm starting to get in over my head here. I wish Hatch or some other smart person would post.

But...

Greg Boyd said:
It seems like what OREA and the CA government code are saying is that if it isn't an FRT then it is not applicable to OREA's mission.

Can't have it both ways.

Well, I'm not smart, so I won't post. Oh, wait...

My only thought is does this get into discussing law? Aren't there some rules that say only attorney's can do so or does this fall within a broader range related to our profession?

Just curious.

You guys are really missing the boat. Little fact, almost nothing the vast majority of residential appraisers do is for a FRT. Something that sorta proves that whoever wrote that nonsense for OREA had no idea what a FRT was, or was not.

Webbed.

How did this discussion get to where it is from my borrower being ticked at me? Wowser - I've moved on, finished a few more appraisals and not looked back - and this thread just goes on and on and on.

Someone said something and then someone else commented and then it sorta became the revised topic. You know, a momentum thing.

Simple answer it is a VAMPIRE. Here at the forum things take on a life of thier own. It will suck the blood and life of who ever lays eyes on it.

OK FOlks the Original Poster has even spoken to the fact that this thread has wandered far from its original question... feel free to start a new thread with the NEW topic of discussion... but this one is now 'gone to sleep'.
