Haven't been on the Forum for a while so can someone explain what the REAA is and what the benefits are. I wouldn't mind traveling to Petaluma from Reno and getting to meet and listen to Brad

They are at http://www.reaaca.org/ - it's a pretty good group and they have meetings in Sacramento also. I don't know what happened with IndyMac, but I've found Brad to be very knowledgible and a good instructor. Smart *** as well, which makes it all the more fun. :)

I'd love to hear someone ask Brad what could have been done to stop Indymacs decline? And this isn't a bash, he was in the trenches, what went wrong?
What went wrong? Nothing, they did what they set out to do, make lots of money while looking the other way on liar loans, stealing appraisers business propriety information while setting systems against the appraisers and colluding with organizations to entertain the lenders, not the welfare of the public or appraisers duty to protect the public trust. They know who they are.

I dont think they envisioned having "their" bank taken over by FDIC. Something did in fact go wrong ... the only question that remains to be answered is exactly which players were instrumental in that "wrong" ... I do believe it will eventually be learned though.

Very unlikely that a Chief Appraiser would be contributing to the situation, after he's a chief appraiser.

I am pretty sure they saw something coming. The question now is? Will they from it, or just wait until we forget, and then do it all over again? But history has shown us that it will.

I think he was overserved on Kool Aid, personally.

He is going to be there to teach about HVCC, not about IndyMac. I hope people remember that.

Cynthia, don't you think the phrase 'appraiser Independence' ties the two of those topics into one another?
