I find it quite disturbing that many here fail to understand that point. :new_all_coholic:

More appraisers than needed. Thank you George Vann. The reason there are so many form monkeys is because the education, training and experience requirements for those charged with the valuation process of millions of dollars in collateral a year is so very easy to obtain.

True appraisers are few and far between, IMO.

Yes, I know--I'm arrogant.

It IS NOT INTENDED TO SAVE APPRAISERS JOBS OR RAISE YOUR FEES.
My understanding is that what the HVCC will do to us is the subject of the class. I'm interested in what he has to say on the subject so I'm going. IndyMac is not the topic, and I'm going to leave that one alone since class time is limited.

The HVCC benefits the public by making the distance between that person being paid a commission and the person ordering the appraisal greater.

Someone has to actually communicate directly with the person being paid a commission in order to find out that an appraisal is needed. What makes that someone any less susceptible than appraisers to the threat of loss of business/pay/employment? You can lengthen the pipeline but the only people feeding it are commission based. I dont see what difference it makes.

STUPID QUESTION ALERT!

What makes BE an expert on HVCC? His newfound love of AMCs perhaps?

I joined the East Bay Chapter several months ago and love it!!! I make sure I block my calendar off every month for their meetings.

I hope Brad knows what he's getting into. I have confidential information that the East Bay Chapter has been infiltrated with skippies, hard-core partyers, drunks, tatted-up ne'er-do-wells, and other Oakland Raider fans.

He's speaking for the North Bay Chapter.

Do you know how I can get a hold of the folks in the picture? I want to hire them for next Halloween. LOL

.....just a comment on "separation of process and sell" functions------I am considering re-financing a home. I call one of the localish lenders and ask for a particular appraiser and I am informed they no longer can do that . . . . Now I do work for them through VA and not regular conventional which makes me aware of the others in my population. When I said I liked this one the best or betterest, and suggest she could look at the list and wait until it was his turn--------and SURPRIZE, I was told that could be done........which to the most minor proves little other than the jump over or around on this ONE personally known example is neither high or wide for HVCC...........best to all...................rs

Congratulations to Jim Park on his new position with ASC!
