Illinois has a Governor more concerned with how far away people can see his name on an I-Pass toll lane than he cares about the average Illinois home owner's personal protection from predatory lending and jerkweed variety appraiser.

Sorry, but that's the bottom line.

Let the ASC do it's thing, I dare them, as in triple dog. They'll do nothing but play the part of a Yorkshire Terrier who yaks its head off from 6 feet away. I'm sick of hearing about how much trouble we're going to be in, all this political crap. Go ahead, do it, and then let all hell break loose.

I'll back-up USPAP's ideas. I read no personal attack into his comments. He's pointing out the obvious: Illinois has big real estate appraiser problems. We have since a couple years after licensing started. Brian's doing a good job, but the problem is bigger than one person (with an assistant). In fact, he needs help. He needs the money from licensing fees to hire staff to track down miscreants and incompetents.

Illinois appraisers are behind Brian and his effort. But we can't turn a blind eye to the real continuted state of the industry due to lack of significant enforcement. If anything, I think Illinois appraisers should be thanking 'USPAP' for reminding us of how 'dissapearing licensing fees' have hurt us all. Brian's predecessor's dealt with the same problem and appeared to have run out of energy dealing with it.

So, back on topic.....who's going???

I need someone to sit with. :new_smile-l: My friend just passed her audit and was certified in December, so she's not going with me now!

Your friend should attend.

Though the main thrust of the day will be regarding the audit, there is ALWAYS something else of interest that arises during the Q&A part of the day.

Boo! Your friend should go anyway. The audit stuff won't take long. There'll be other things.

I know! Right!? Your comic relief is reason enough to attend!:rof: :leeann2:

Suz-e, Jim O. & Scott

If you attend, be certain that we make acquaintance!
