In fact, I'm waiting for the AMC to advise if work is available there.
A good community in Portland is similar or even more than a lot of Riverside--So if its about money thats a Zero Sum Game -I thought you were looking for cheap ?

So glad I left the state when I did. It has gone to pot (literally and figuratively) since we moved. Don't get me wrong there is a lot I miss as I was born and raised in Cali but holy cow, things have just gotten stupid.

Prop 13 and the whales keep me here. Yep, there is a bit of an explosion in the whale population - especially Humpback whales. Nothing like walking along the beach in the summer and looking for spouts in the far distance, or the whales occasionally flipping their back fins out of the water or surfacing just enough that you can see their backs.

"The humpback whales are very acrobatic. The population along the California coast is only about 800. Prime whale watching season for humpback whales is in the summer and fall, with the largest number of sightings along the Central California coast. For more information, check the Whale Watching calendar at http://abt.cm/1fD9FSN."

The surfing keeps my brother there, he's about 20 minutes east of the beach in SD County. I was back in 2019 for about 6 months helping my dad while he was going through treatment and taking care of all my moms stuff when she passed (he didn't realize all the crap she had), and things were just not the same.

I chose college based on the surfing/beach......San Diego vs Santa Barbara were the choices and also related to being a soccer player on said teams as well.

I actually had a bungalow flip in Santa Barbara about 20 years ago and like a total complete idiot got rid of it. And it was on a big lot with room to expand. Dumb dumber dumbest.
