Obviously capitalism is king amongst most you, no greater good to sustain independence in your industry. We can see how capitalism did wonders for the big banks and BP. How many of you are any different from the lenders in your selfish search for the dollar is beyond me? When your lender has finally realized that working with an AMC and getting kick backs or setting up their own AMC is so much easier and profitable than supporting the independent appraiser, you with your cozy relationships will feel the pain of so many of your fellow appraisers that you have called the weak. Yes it is survival of the fittest, the big lenders and AMCs. Sit back a watch as big banks and AMCs crush the weak, factious independent appraisers.

Am I the only one here that caught this post? Looks like you fell right into the leftist spin propaganda spewn by the likes of Michael Moore. This country was built on Capitalism. We are nearly all Capitalists by nature in this business since most of us are self employed to some degree. Making a profit is not a crime and should not be shameful.

Don't fault Capitalism as the root cause for greed and corruption. Just as you would not fault cars for auto accidents, guns for bank robberies, and water for drownings. The mess we are in is due to greed and corruption, most of it rooted in government.

Your post above subtly implying that we look to Marxism and Socialism as a cure for our industry mess is quite disturbing. Posts like yours explain why Obama still has over a 40% approval rating. Sometimes I wonder where these people are and how anyone could possibly think this way. I'm at a loss of words now so I will sign-off.
