Greg,

Sorry you are feeling left out.:rof: :rof:

Brad
The only thing I'm feeling left out on is the money for the appraisals I did last month. I've got this one client that seems to need to be prodded to send a check. Maybe you've heard of them, IndyMac Bank? Generally a nice group of people for whom to work, just a bit slow to pay. Although when they do pay, they pay well. They sent two checks for the last job I did. I am processing the refund at the same speed as they processed the original payment, slow and sure.:new_all_coholic:

I went to school with some people who became famous too. One of my high school classmates had his work in southern california in the papers for a couple of years. He is now doing life without parole for that work. :new_all_coholic:

I did a Zook-designed house on Chicago Ave. in River Forest quite a few years ago. His signature, as you mentioned is a spider in a web. The house I did had a stained leaded bathroom window on the first floor. The leading was in a spider's web design and the spider, also done in stained glass, was in the center of the window.

At the time, houses of similar age, style, size and location were selling for the same price that the Zook house was selling. I took this to indicate that there was no market premium for the Zook. I could have been wrong, but that was my conclusion. You have sales of other Zook houses in the locations you mentioned. How will you separate the architect-factor from the location-factor?

I went further back in time within the town as well. I also found there was no market premium for the Zook house when compared to the other homes within its neighborhood. I also wanted to include a Zook home in the grid so I used one from outside the neighborhood choosing Park Ridge because it has similar market appeal and a similar feel to the subject neighborhood. I then compared similar non Zook homes in Park Ridge with non Zook homes in the subject neighborhood and they were comparably priced.

Greg,

Well, looks like Judy and I will have come from a wildly different background than yours and your friend's who ended up in jail. :rof:

Just got a second copy of a biography on Steve Goodman by author Clay Eals. Seems my daughter went to his book signing in Chicago and got me an autographed copy- surprised both him and me (we've become friends after all the interviews). The daughter thought it cool that I was quoted many times in a book with quotes from the likes of Paul Anka, Kris Kristoferson, Better Midler, Steve Martin and Jimmy Buffet.

For me, lots of good memories and many sad ones, too, since I lost that friend in 1984 and still miss him, but I'm learning many things he never told me about as well.
