The question if one cares about the public trust is why appraisers are being advised to divest themselves of AMC work as the solution.
The real reason to eschew all bank work is you make more money with less stips and problems of whining reviews. Truth. Lawyers pay better and quicker than banks or AMCs. Some people are so focused on forms and terrified of narratives that they suffer financially as a result.

Too many don't remember that appraisers demanded something be done about LO control over the ordering process, appraisers just couldn't deal with the pressure or say no to LOs and their demands.
Many complaints about "LO" were not LOfficers but loan originators in secondary market. Real loan officers didn't bully appraisers, only mortgage brokers and their ilk.

I'm in no position to disagree with you.......
Because I've really had no experience with attorney work.....
In 30 years of appraising I've only performed 3 appraisals for attorneys....

Why do you believe lawyers pay better than banks or AMCs?

I believe it is mostly due to think legal need for appraisals is very limited compared to vast lender need for res work.

Am sure it is a specialty some appraisers feel well suited for, others wont', still it is a limited market.

I cringe whenever I read stuff like this. Too many don't remember that appraisers demanded something be done about LO control over the ordering process, appraisers just couldn't deal with the pressure or say no to LOs and their demands. Thousands signed a petition, a la mode delivered bags of mail to Cuomo demanding change, and the HVCC was rolled out with nearly no opposition. Appraisers, appraiser orgs, appraiser agitators, pretend appraiser advocates, etc. welcomed the HVCC.

Cringe? Evincere is one of the few that actually knows what is going on. It was propaganda back then, as it is now.

Okay Glen.
Just one question,

WHOM do you think is paying a minimum purchase of $2,500.00. for a list of appraiser email addresses and phone numbers?

AMCs and lenders that don't have any appraisers?

Home owners that need 2,500 appraiser email addresses?

You do realize that being "good at business' means you understand who your potential clients are?

So please tell us,

Whom do you believe is buying 2,500 appraiser's email addresses???

Wells Fargo?

Bank of America?

Danny's Company?

The city of Houston?

The Government?? FEMA?? The SBA?? because they don’t have access to State Boards?

The Student loan pre-approval committee?

The DNC perhaps?

How about the solicitor in South Africa representing your long lost dead relative's estate?

No you cannot.

No you cannot.
Regardless. The ASC might not have email addresses. However, anyone seeking the services of an Appraiser for disaster inspections can contact Appraisers here on AF for FREE on Wayne's Appraiser U.S.A directory.

https://appraiserusa.com/

The states with high disaster needs right now have ample appraiser listings inclusive of phone numbers, email address, web sites, etc.
