There has been a lot said about the Comp Cruncher software and the resulting CVR to compete with the BPO's and AVM"s, most of it not so positive; nevertheless, I want to know who is training here in California and in what area of the state are you in?
I figure that for those of us willing to do this in addition to the regular appraisal report, it might be good to have a support as this is rather new to most of us if not all.
I figure we can discuss wording, pricing formulas and situations we may encounter along the way. In the past I have asked my collegues for advice, though it would be good here.

Morning Mike,
Comp Crunches is a software program developed my Bradford Technologies (Clickforms). It was designed to help valuation professionals get back the BPO market and wrest it from the hands of agents and brokers. The best thing to do is go to AppraisalWorld.com and get the low down.
I am still in the training mode and don't know what the outcome will be, but if somebody is willing to pay me $150.00 for an hours work, I have to give it a shot.

I am training right now through AppraisalWorld.com, I have learned a lot in the past few days about regression, still have not gotten to the part of the training where I use the software. I will keep you guys updated. I am happy to be taking the course and I think it may provide some supplemental income for me once I get the training done! I'm excited to be one of the first to learn it! I look forward to discussing it a bit more once I get further into the training.

Well, at least I am not alone. I guess I am a little bit ahead of you. I am having some problems, but the biggest for me right now is step by step procedure. I believe there should be an owners manual; afterall, we are at the very beginning.
Like you I am happy to be one of the first to learn it. I think it may have benefit not yet realized once we are up and running.

I sort of remember reading about this last year. Seems to me it would work better in high density type areas... areas where appraisers barely get $150 for 1004's.

I would like to know the total cost to use Comp Cruncher; classes + subscription + software.

You might want to log on to...........Bradfordsoftware.com. I may be wrong but I think they are headquartered down in your area.

Good Day All,
Comp Cruncher was designed by Bradford Technologies as a way of taking back business as lending institutions, credit union, REO's go to BPO's and AVM to value property. According to Appraisal World, a part of Bradford, it is a billion dollar business. Regression analysis a concept that has been around for a long while and used by assessors for mass appraisals for the purpose of property taxes or eminent domain. With comp Cruncher it is applied to individual properties.
I think Greg may be correct that it works better in high density areas, but I don't know if fees have anything baring. For me, it is a way for me to broaden assignment opportunities, work face to face with clients and not depend on broadcast appraisal assignments from faceless AMC's. I don't know if that will be the case, but I do know that all things are possible.
To find out about Comp Cruncher and help you make a decision, go to appraisalworld.com
I started this thread because as an appraiser completing 1004 and the like, many time I go to my local colleagues for assistance. Since this program is so new I thought it nice to have a support place; I think we are going to need it.

The first step should be to call your E & O Company to see what their thoughts are on products like this. The reason the clients would be willing to pay an appraiser more for something like this than a BPO is because your signature as an appraiser and liability are tied to it.
