Credit Cards.. Yes or No?

We use Credit Card machine after Pay Pal would not fight for the chargebacks we incurred. Maybe 4 or 5 over the past 4 years. We only got 1 back. With the CC machine the CC company comes directly to you and your company can send the order form, pictures of interior of home ect. to prove your case. We have had only one case with CC and we won it. ALso we have the homeowner sign the recepit when we do the inspection. When they sign the recepit, there is nothing they can do to get there maoney back IF you provided the service.

i hear quickbooks credit card program is good. 15 flat monthly fee to know the money is yours now. they charge a percentage if you break the 15 fee but its not much. i might do it, i get requests to pay by credit card about 3 times a month. i always tell them "my credit card machine just broke yesterday can you write me a check instead" ive had to hold it for a few days but it doesnt bother me.

I use paypal and make them sign their life away so I am protected if they try and get their money back.

NO

I use PayPal, too, but I just add the estimated PayPal fee to the appraisal fee. I've only used it a handful of times, but it IS very useful for a number of things, including homeowners in another state who can't "pay at the door," lenders not on my "OK to bill 'em" list, and most importantly, I use it in my "No, I don't work for free" spliel...."Sure, I'd be happy to pull a few comps for you...simply deposit $50 per comp via Paypal and I'll get 'em to you ASAP." It's worth it to hear the fishlike gasping on the other end of the line.

I don't need it enough to justify a monthly fee, so i just pay the per transaction fees, which are high...but many homeowners would rather pay their credit card company $410 plus interest forever than to pay me $400 up front. (Which could explain why they're refinancing AGAIN. :) )
