Day 1 Nova Software

I used DayOne for years and thought it was the best around, a very stable platform and the ability for remote tech support. When Zaio bought them, all support went into a black hole for a few weeks and no one would answer the phone.

It was at that time that I decided to change , both due to Zaio now owning it and the really lousy way they handled the transition. It did not show much respect or concern for their customer, me.

I tried trials of ACI, ClickForms and Ala Mode. All seemed pretty good and a matter of personal choice. I went with Ala Mode, mainly due to their money back promise. Bought the whole package. The learning curve really had me frustrated and kept using DayOne. Given the amount of money that I had commited to it, I felt it had better produce a return on investment in a very short time, which added to the pressure.

I called Ala Mode to return the package and get a refund. Spent 45 minutes in the phone with them. The talked me through a few problems I was having and refunded 2/3rds of the money. I finally set the date that I would tansition from DayOne to Ala Mode.

I am VERY happy with AlaMode. I still do not know even 1/10th of its features, but it already cuts a minimum of 15 minutes of of each report. What is even more important is the ease of use, report writing is much more enjoyable now.

Summary, I would highly recommend it, but expect to spend some time getting used to it.

I have only used ACI. I'm a wiz at it. But, I was recently hired by a company that uses Day 1. So far, ACI is much easier to use due to the calculator feature, numeric options, additional comparable page, and ease of the photo pages.
