It’s Sunday March 2, 2008

I am writing this note personally to let you know that I am still here and it will be Business as usual soon. You may notice on the Logo and my new signature that we are now a Division of Zaio Inc.!

From what I can tell so far; it is a great merger! However, I held off writing this note for 2 weeks so that I could become familiar with what to expect.

Most of you know me and trust my opinion. So I will say that I am very confident that we are going in a positive and stable direction!

Here is the bad news: We have moved to a new location and for the next few weeks, systems will be erratic and response times way behind the norm. So I will apologize In advance!

Since this is the first time in seven years that I have been unavailable for more than a week; many, many people have let me know, that they are getting nervous and thinking of a change. The Nova products and our services will be maintained properly. In two or three weeks our move will be completed and things should be back to normal. No need to spend any more money.

Visit http://day1.com/ for up to date details and updates for your Nova!

Very Important note: Day One Software has always been an independent division which is now wholly owned by Zaio Inc..

Questions about any dealing with Appraisal.com (our previous owner) can only be answered by their existing management team.

Day One is definately still in operation, despite the claims of some of our very competitive friends in the forms software industry. Zaio is working very hard to bring all systems back up to speed, with the final issue(s) being a problem with our main toll free number, and a router issue which may cause brief outages for our Riskmeter flood maps.

Thank you, Jim, for posting this, and we look forward to working with our users well into the forseeable future...we are very excited to be on board with Zaio, if only not be under the thumb of the old company, Appraisal.com, Inc., which I likened to the proverbial rickity bridge...

When can I expect my copy of AppraisalAnywhere?

That is a really good question, Jim. I know we are/were excited to put it out, but for the immediate future, AppraisalAnywhere is on hold.

Zaio has committed to doing their best to re-build Day One from the mess Appraisal.com, Inc. left it in. AppraisalAnywhere was indeed one of the assets picked up by Zaio, but for the immediate they wish to focus on the software that is out and in use before looking into the software in development.

It's not a dead issue, but it is certainly on hold for right now.

Mike,

Not sure why you are so willing to trash Appraisal.com? Day One has been a very stable platform for me and it gets the job done.

I was considering switching to another program and decided to stay with Day One. If the attitude that you are conveying is representative of the new company, I may change my mind and switch anyhow.

So if I decide to stay with Day One, who do I talk to about a support agreement? No one there seems interested in keeping my business, only trying to sell me a zone.

One other thing...Not having a main toll free number active? That seems to be a pretty basic, and important item! Does not build much confidence when the basics cannot be supported.

Day One definately is stable, but Appraisal.com, Inc., our corporate entity for as long as I've been with the company really stopped development on Nova, sans new forms required by lenders, at the end. Day One is a viable entity, but in my opinion it was not treated as such.

If you are a user, you should definately stick around. If you had a Tech Support contract in effect prior to February 1st, it is still in effect, and will be until it expires, at no charge of course. When it comes time to renew, you would want to contact the above mentioned Dennis Steiner at 1-800-204-3319 x158, and he'll talk to you about it. Be sure to mention the discount and extended plans Zaio is offering.

Appraisal.com, Inc. was a good company for a long time. However, on February 1st, it was all over. Users would have been in the lurch. For a couple of weeks, users were really stressin', wondering why calls weren't being returned, mailboxes were full, and so on. Day One would have just disappeared.

Zaio came in and pulled us out of the fire, and committed to not only support the software, but develop it as well. The future truly hasn't been brighter for us than it is now, I believe that whole heartedly.

I don't disagree. Appraisal.com, Inc. was forwarding them to us here after the acquisition in mid-Feb., but that was a temporary solution that expired after a couple of weeks.

The provider of the 800 numbers for the old company require approximately a month or so, as we were told, to transfer them from one provider to another. Zaio does not use the same provider Appraisal.com, Inc. did. Vigourous discussions were had with both companies, and a toll free number which served as the main Appraisal.com, Inc. toll free number, 1-800-204-3319, was made available to us, but the 1-800-GET-DAY1(1-800-438-3291) number is still in the process of transfer.

DayOne software has many good features, but it has always been buggy since they went to the Windows platform. IMHO, they have to do a much better with the error checking. All versions that I have dealt with have had annoying bugs...there was even one version that was so bad that Forms simply didn't function.

Yes, sir...we are hoping with a little stronger backing from Zaio to fix some of the more glaring problems, and then *crosses fingers* perhaps they will revisit AppraisalAnywhere, as that really had the potential to turn some heads.

Also a quick note...the 1-800-GET-DAY1 or 1-800-438-3291 number is back up and running...
