Dissapointed in McKissock

Last year I purchased the ability to take continuing education courses for my Appraisal Re-certification. I was told that I could pay $399 to be able to take as many courses as I wanted to satisfy me continuing education. I took my courses and renewed my license. I just got a bill on my credit card for an additional $399 from McKissock. In calling the company they said that they don't tell clients that it is a continuing automatic billing annually. The agent that initially sold me the ability to take my CE courses didn't mention that this was a continuing billing automatically. This was a very "sleezy" approach to the appraisal community which I am positive will not be well received by other appraisers. Once this approach of automatically billing appraisers for not needed course work starts hitting their credit card, there will be many unhappy appraisers who were duped by this practice.

It says right on the website that it is a two year contract. Gotta read the fine print!

Every broshure they sent me says two year contract - There is no way they could make money on this if it was only for a year. So big deal now you are covered for your net cycle take as many courses as you can and be happy

The Good news is unlike some other providers, McKissock has a very comprehensive CE list of classes that can be taken on line.

I did the math since I needed mucho hours to meet AI's hours too, and I opted for paying for courses individually. It clearly stated its a two year deal. Make the best of it and take courses to renew for your next license in two years.
