I explain my role in the loan process. The best part is telling them I'm only there to gather physical evidence and that I do not determine value, especially if the house is is a POS. :cool:
What's the look on their face when they realize that you're not the appraiser?
 
Need a master class in professionalism and restraint? Answer an assessor office phone for a while.
I would put money on it being the number one profession where people regularly tell you how your job is supposed to work.
You would definitely lose you money on that bet. Try being a police officer. Everyone thinks they know that a cop is suppose to do. They don't.

I like inspecting vacant land. Sometimes there are cows and hang out near me when I am taking photos. I think they were owned by a Highway Dept. employee. I work while they stand around watching. But they never complain.

I also think you would lose that bet. It is pretty common with just about any government employee that deals with the public
