Dress code

As for gay guys, my cohort was really disappointed when she went to a gay guy's place. Said , sure was a waste as he was real cute.

Ter

Yeah, not one to discuss preferences, but I've noticed that in many instances.... :?: :?

A little humor never hurt a serious discussion.

I don't worry about Politically Correct.

Politically Correct is nothing more than SOMEBODY ELSE telling YOU what you can say, not say, or like, or not like. It is a social attempt to limit freedom.

As far as the dress code thing, it is my experience that no matter what you wear, somebody is not going to like it. Can't please everybody, so I just try to please myself, as Ricky Nelson said.

Questions: Why is Jap Flaps not Politically Correct, but Tex-Mex food is? Is Tex-Mex offensive to Mexicans?
Or Cowboy Boots, are they offensive to Cowboys? On our local PBS TV station they run British situation comedies such as Fawlty Towers with John Cleese. The STATION calls them Brit-Coms. Is that offensive to the British?

People are too sensitive these days.

Hey I started this thread, I own it so we can talk about what ever I want LOL Never really answered my question but I sure got a kick out of the answers

Went to a AI Seminar in DC and the dress code went from full suits to cutoffs, tank top and sandals.

All AI people, 75% MAI's but the dress code was as varied as a
rainbow.. As was said earlier, you have only once chance to make a first impression. If you think you are a professional, play it that way. So it goes.

me, depends on assignment: homes >$500K: tie and mercedes benz; farms any value, blue jeans, suspenders, and Tracker. All others, dockers, dress shirt w/coveralls in the trunk of the claim as necessary.

Terrel,

Ticks....Yes siree we got ticks here....and this year TONS of them (mild winter/wet spring). My experience with seed ticks and there slightly large cousins is that IT DOES NOT MATTER what your wearing short of a fully enclosed comtamination suit....they WILL get in, and into some pretty iritating cracks and crevices. I hate using any kind of "bug spray" but think I may start, I was out with the new Dog, Sky this past weekend and I came back infested with the tenacious buggers, Sky too....maybe I should get myself a flea and tick collar!?!

As a gay appraiser, I find this thread completely offensive! Oh wait, I am not gay, I am just reasonably happy! Why? Because it's spring time in the Rockies. I am now into my summer appraisal attire...cotton shirt, jean shorts, and yukons with half socks. Wait...seems I do dress some what gay..don't you think?

I forget to mention....required to wear coat and tie while teaching the registered appraiser's class. Boy does that give them the wrong impression!

Are these the same appraisers asking if it is professional to work on weekends? Personally, I will not wear shorts or t-shirts on inspections. Those bushes are too hard on the legs. I will wear darker blue jeans (professional or unprofessional) or khakis and my knit shirts with company logo. I got tired of replacing $60 shirts and opted for the knit shirts with logo. MIke, you can dress however you like-not that there is anything wrong with that!
