Egg Prices

He can buy oysters, but eggs are a bridge too far. Enough of the made-up fantasy BS.

I wanted my eggs so tonight I took a chance and went to Trader Joe.
The store had lots of dozen eggs at $4.99 with 1 per household.
Trader Joe is big company and can keep price of eggs same throughout this year.
Don't understand why other stores sell at $7-$9 dozen. Fernando doesn't like to be ripped off.

Move out of CA. Other states do not rip off their residents. CA is so mismanaged taxing your taxes is coming next.

Eggs are a small segment of inflation on overall grocery prices. The egg prices falling is to wholesalers. Retailers that use or sell eggs is a different story relative to eggs alone.

Look at the chart. I can't post it for some reason. If you go to the link you can see the chart.

The below table shows the percent increase or decrease in food prices on an annual basis by month and calendar year. Since figures below are 12-month periods, look to the December column to find the overall change in food prices by calendar year. The last column, "Ave," shows the average rate of increase or decrease in food prices by year.

Jan was 2.5, Feb 2.6, Mar 3.0. April will be available soon.

Data Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics: Food and beverages in U.S. city average, all urban consumers, not seasonally adjusted. CPI-All Urban Consumers.
The change in food prices is a component of the CPI’s "all items" index and so they are part of the data set that is used in calculating inflation rates. Because food prices tend to be more volatile, however, they are stripped when calculating core inflation rates.
About food and how their prices change over the years, check also: milk prices adjusted for inflation, coffee prices adjusted for inflation, bacon prices adjusted for inflation, and egg prices adjusted for inflation.

Trump just said there's 'no inflation' in the US. But it's still higher than what the Fed wants.

President Donald Trump says there's "no inflation," but the latest data shows the battle against rising prices is still going on, and they're rising faster than the Federal Reserve would like.

In a post on Truth Social on Friday morning, the president pointed to inflation, gas prices, and mortgage rates all being down, and reiterated calls for the Fed to cut interest rates.

"Gasoline just broke $1.98 a Gallon, lowest in years, groceries (and eggs!) down, energy down, mortgage rates down, employment strong, and much more good news, as Billions of Dollars pour in from Tariffs," Trump wrote, emphasizing that the economy was only in a "TRANSITION STAGE" after he rolled out his slate of tariffs last month. "Consumers have been waiting for years to see pricing come down. NO INFLATION, THE FED SHOULD LOWER ITS RATE!!!," he added.

Trump claims grocery and gas prices are falling. Experts say that's misleading

President Donald Trump on Friday claimed grocery and gas prices are falling, an assertion he's made repeatedly since taking office.

In a post on social media, Trump touted the price levels alongside job growth and tax revenue in a list of gains delivered by his tariff policy.

"We're only in a TRANSITION STAGE, just getting started!!!" Trump said.

The claim of a reduction in prices for those essential goods, however, is potentially misleading, economists told ABC News. Since Trump took office, price hikes for food have accelerated and gas prices have stood essentially flat, federal government data shows.

I'M NOT FEELING THE LOWER PRICES.
I WENT TO COSTCO TODAY AND NO EGGS.
GAS PRICE STILL SAME AS LAST MONTH AT $4.50/GALLON. WITH OIL PRICES GOING DOWN, I DON'T SEE IT IN THE PRICES.
WHILE THERE, DID BUY A NICE WATCH. HEY, BEFORE THE TARIFFS AFFECT THE PRICES.
