Egg Prices

He can buy oysters, but eggs are a bridge too far. Enough of the made-up fantasy BS.

I wanted my eggs so tonight I took a chance and went to Trader Joe.
The store had lots of dozen eggs at $4.99 with 1 per household.
Trader Joe is big company and can keep price of eggs same throughout this year.
Don't understand why other stores sell at $7-$9 dozen. Fernando doesn't like to be ripped off.

Move out of CA. Other states do not rip off their residents. CA is so mismanaged taxing your taxes is coming next.

Eggs are a small segment of inflation on overall grocery prices. The egg prices falling is to wholesalers. Retailers that use or sell eggs is a different story relative to eggs alone.

Look at the chart. I can't post it for some reason. If you go to the link you can see the chart.

The below table shows the percent increase or decrease in food prices on an annual basis by month and calendar year. Since figures below are 12-month periods, look to the December column to find the overall change in food prices by calendar year. The last column, "Ave," shows the average rate of increase or decrease in food prices by year.

Jan was 2.5, Feb 2.6, Mar 3.0. April will be available soon.

Data Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics: Food and beverages in U.S. city average, all urban consumers, not seasonally adjusted. CPI-All Urban Consumers.
The change in food prices is a component of the CPI’s "all items" index and so they are part of the data set that is used in calculating inflation rates. Because food prices tend to be more volatile, however, they are stripped when calculating core inflation rates.
About food and how their prices change over the years, check also: milk prices adjusted for inflation, coffee prices adjusted for inflation, bacon prices adjusted for inflation, and egg prices adjusted for inflation.
